Which packaging and pallet data should be reviewed before PV module delivery?
Check pallet quantity, package dimensions, gross weight, stacking, unloading and storage before photovoltaic module shipment.
Short answer
Module dimensions and unit weight do not describe the full delivery. Logistics review needs the current packing specification: units per pallet, pallet dimensions and gross weight, stack limits, container loading, handling points, unloading method and storage conditions.

Use the packing specification
Ask for the version tied to the exact model and order. Packaging can change with product format, destination, transport mode or supplier update.
Check every transfer point
Review factory loading, port or terminal handling, vehicle capacity, site gate, crane or forklift access, temporary storage and movement to installation areas.
Plan inspection and exceptions
Define checks for package damage, moisture, tilt indicators where used, quantity and visible module condition. Record the reporting path before delivery.
A packing-to-container reconciliation
Use the supplier's actual packing list before estimating freight or receiving quantity.
- Package identity
- Model / bin / units per pallet / pallet count / pallet identifiers / serial range or attached unit list.
- Freight inputs
- External length × width × height / gross mass / package orientation / permitted stacking and handling from issued instructions / transport mode.
- Reconciliation
- Ordered units / packed units / shipped units / received units / discrepancy. Do not calculate container capacity from bare-module dimensions alone.
